My niece wanted a realistic doll for her birthday. She chose this one and is very thrilled with it. The body is made of a soft material that mimics human skin. One downside is that it is a heavy doll so maybe not made for toddlers who might throw or drop it a lot. It also could have been made with closable eyes which would have made it even more like a real baby
